Period Oak Restoration Projects
Restoration 3
Charing, Kent
We were called in to have a look at this 17th Century Hall house in Charing, Kent. After an initial inspection we found a large amount of decay and timber with water penetration on the ground floor. The oak was in need of urgent attention and we were asked to carry out the oak restoration work.
Some of the oak had to be replaced but wherever possible we endeavoured to repair the timbers. To carry out the work, we lifted the front of the house to enable us to restore and replace the sole plate, lower studs and door posts.
We were very pleased with the finished work on this project and we managed to give this house a new lease of life with minimal disruption.
