Our
carpenters have worked alongside conservation officers on numerous
old timber buildings including churches, barns, mills, and houses.
We carry out detailed surveys, providing a repair schedule and
budget costs for the architect or client.
We
have surveyed, numbered and dismantled entire buildings, carried
out repairs in our workshop and reassembled them back on site.
We have lifted, straightened and repaired many buildings near
collapse.
The
initial examination of each restoration project is of vital
importance. From this we ascertain the exact timber sizes and
jointing details from the outset. Also from this information
we can gauge the history and development of each building, for
example the amount of bays it would have had in its original
form.
We have a highly skilled work force who can restore your home
or barn to its former glory and who can replicate or duplicate
(if also to be extended) the exact joints and timber sizes used
in the original style and period.
