Harlow Period Oak specialises in the design, creation and erection
of bespoke oak framed buildings.
We pride ourselves in being able to capture history by constructing
traditional, handcrafted mortice and tenon pegged joint frames
using only the finest quality oak from managed forests. Oak
is a hard and durable timber, which explains why so many of
our ancestors’ beautiful medieval homes have survived
and we take pride in being able to recreate these oak frame
buildings which also will stand for many centuries.
All
of our new oak framed houses are custom built using either one
of our models or your own design. For clients wishing to build
their own house, we have an architect available who will provide
a full range of architectural services from the early design
and conception phase with outline costs, to planning and building
regulations. You may already have your own architect and want
us to carry out the frame design only, with our engineers carrying
out stress calculations on the design. We are also able to offer
advice on cladding, roofing and glazing these structures along
with other specialist detailing - the product of years of work
on these buildings.

of the highest quality in workmanship and materials, but also
one of a kind.
